Major Updates in Novelty Checker LLM
1. Freedom-to-Operate (FTO) Integration
We’re excited to announce that Freedom-to-Operate (FTO) is now fully integrated into the Novelty Checker. This expansion makes it easier than ever for users to run both novelty and FTO searches from a single, AI-assisted, user-supervised platform.
- Users can now access FTO directly from the Novelty Checker interface by clicking on the “FTO” tab located beside “Novelty”.
- This allows smooth switching between novelty and FTO workflows, ensuring a unified search experience.
The FTO workflow mirrors the existing Novelty Checker process, making it intuitive for existing users. FTO searches are strictly mapped according to the claims of the identified results, ensuring higher legal and technical precision.
A new Advanced Filter has been introduced for targeted search for refining FTO searches. Users can now tailor queries by, restricting jurisdictions , Including/excluding specific inventors or assignees, filtering based on legal status and other critical parameters.
The Results page follows the same familiar design as Novelty Checker, but with a key enhancement. Key features are mapped directly to claims in the retrieved results.
The History Page has been updated to show both Novelty and FTO searches. Users can now toggle between past novelty checks and FTO reports, improving ease of tracking and revisiting prior work.
2. Para-Picx (Para-Agent) Integration
The new Para-Picx Para-Agent enhances Novelty Checker LLM’s analytical capabilities by incorporating relevant patent visuals. The para-agent intelligently identifies and retrieves the most relevant patent images associated with the input patent technology.
Each image is accompanied by a brief, AI generated description that provides context and clarity. Selected images are integrated into LLM-generated reports, helping users better understand key features through visual representation.
This functionality is available via the Results Page, where users can select up to three key features for a more targeted, image-supported analysis and visualization. New action buttons have been added to enable easy access to image-based reports powered by the Para-Picx Agent.
* The border of the Para-Picx Para-Agent icon turns green once the report for that row has been requested.
3. Image as an input
Users can now upload image and text based documents. The system will analyze both text and images and prefill input details, streamlining the disclosure input process.
